About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Health Information Systems Intern to join our IT and Data team. You will support the maintenance and optimization of the digital systems and electronic health records that keep our clinics running efficiently. This is a hands-on opportunity to apply technology to real-world public health challenges.
Key Responsibilities
System Support: Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting the electronic medical records (EMR) system used by clinicians across our network.
Data Management: Write and execute basic database queries (e.g., PostgreSQL or SQL) to help clean, extract, and format health data for reporting.
Application Testing: Help test new features and updates for our web and mobile data-collection tools before they are deployed to the clinics.
Technical Documentation: Update user manuals and technical documentation for clinic staff to ensure smooth adoption of software tools.
Requirements
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related technical field.
Familiarity with relational databases and writing SQL queries.
Basic understanding of web or mobile application development (experience with frameworks like React, Vue, or Flutter is a plus).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
A genuine interest in leveraging technology for social impact and public health.
